Mumford & Sons, Florence + The Machine and Billy Joel Announced For Bonnaroo 2015

Slayer, Jamie XX and Deadmau5 also confirmed for the Tennessee Festival.

Mumford & Sons, Billy Joel and Deadmau5 have been confirmed to headline this years Bonnaroo music festival alongside the likes of Against Me!, Kendrick Lamar, Florence +The Machine and Jamie XX.

Announcing the lineup directly to fans over the course of several hours, Bonnaroo had asked people to phone a dedicated hotline to discover an act on the bill, before requesting they share it via social media.

It’s a strategy that’s open to hijinks, with Michael Jackson and The Beatles apparently being confirmed and a brief phone error stating, “No routes found,” leading people to claim they preferred their earlier material. Fortunately, these incidents were rare and for the most part, the announcement went smoothly with the excitement that Belle & Sebastian, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifterss and My Morning Jacket playing, offering all the entertainment people needed.

This announcement marks the return of Mumford & Sons who took a brief hiatus in 2013 and had to cancel their headline slot at the festival the same year, after bassist Ted Dwayne underwent brain surgery. Royal Blood, Bassnectar, Alabama Shakes and Twenty One Pilots will be playing alongside them.

Bonnaroo takes place between 11th and the 14th June and will entertain over 80000 people in four days. Tickets for the 14th edition of the festival go on sale this Friday.
