Mutya Keisha Siobhan return with ‘Back in the Day’ single
Trio have also won back the rights to their Sugababes name.
Mutya Keisha Siobhan have announced plans to release their new album, due out this year on Polydor.
They’re leading with ‘Back in the Day’, their first new material since the Dev Hynes-produced 2013 single ‘Flatline’. A follow-up, ‘Time’ (also produced by Hynes) was pulled, but ‘Back in the Day’ brings the trio back into the spotlight.
A slick reminder of the Sugababes factor, the track gives nods to early-‘00s R&B - it’s streaming below. Siobhan calls it the group’s “TLC moment”.
Tracks being recorded for the new album include ‘Boys’, ‘Beat is Gone’, ‘Drum’ and ‘Love Like This’.
MKS also recently won a legal battle against Amelle Berrabah, Jade Ewen and Heidi Range to retain the name “Sugababes”.
