New Zealand’s Thomston breaks ground on new track, ‘Grey’
Exciting pop hope makes his UK debut at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival.
Schooled in smooth-edged, synth-fledged pop, Thomston is a New Zealand talent swiftly following in Lorde’s footsteps by adding an unorthodox edge to straight-up songwriting. New track ‘Grey’ has more than a few shades of promise.
19 years old, Thomas Stoneman is a London-bored, Auckland-raised talent. His forthcoming ‘Backbone’ EP is out 20th April, landing ahead of debut appearances at Brighton’s Great Escape (14th-16th May) and Paris’ Les Etoiles (12th May).
Dosed up on lust and an escapism-first perspective, this is the kind of hard-hitting opening hand that’ll travel far. Listen below.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
