Nia Archives drops latest track ‘Bad Gyalz’
She’s also shared plans for an all-day party this weekend.
June’s no-holds-barred banger ‘Off Wiv Ya Headz’ would be a tough act to follow for some, but Nia Archives is back today with another late summer anthem, ‘Bad Gyalz’. Ravey and revelling in jungle rhythms, it’s accompanied by a 90-style video that pays joyful tribute to the track’s eponymous ‘gyalz’.
Talking about the track, Nia says: “I was on ma way to the studio with Clipz listening to Ranking Ann who is one of my fave MCs - period. And then I was just thinking about tha fact that like whenever I go to one of my shows, it’s like 85% women age 18-25 which is so amazing! And they are all baddies, absolute junglists. So I wanted to make a song that represents that and tha women that come to ma raves. And that’s how ‘Bad Gyalz was born!”
Nia’s also holding a standalone ‘Bad Gyalz Day Party’ this Sunday 6th August to mark the release, which will take place at 60 Dock Road and feature DJ sets from DJ Flight, PXSSY PALACE, Sim0ne, Izzy Bossy and more. Geared towards an audience of galz, non-binary people and members of the LGBTQ+ community, the party aims to create a safe, inclusive environment in which people of marginalised communities can come together and dance.
