Nirvana Asked PJ Harvey To Play Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

The ‘Let England Shake’ star was unavailable to join Nirvana at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

One week on from the star-studded Nirvana Rock and Roll Hall of Fame shows, it has emerged that PJ Harvey was invited to be a part of the celebrations.

On the night, Lorde, St. Vincent, Kim Gordon and Joan Jett joined Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear for performances at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. But in an interview with Rolling Stone, Grohl revealed that Polly Harvey was also on a list of prospective special guests.

‘Kurt loved PJ Harvey,’ said Grohl in the interview. ‘We had always imagined playing our song ‘Milk It’ from In Utero with her. It’s a twisted song, almost like something that could have been on her record ‘Rid of Me’, which was also produced by Steve Albini. It just seemed to pair up so well.’

PJ Harvey was unfortunately unavailable on the night. Catch up with highlights from last week’s celebrations here.
