Other Lives announce new ‘Rituals’ album, stream ‘Reconfiguration’
Grand, arching lead previews the follow-up to the band’s ‘Tamer Animals’ LP.
Following on from the release of 2011’s ‘Tamer Animals’, Oklahoma group Other Lives have announced their new album, ‘Rituals’.
Out 4th May via Play It Again Sam (PIAS), it’s being led with the gorgeous ‘Reconfiguration’, a perfectly-paced track that takes notes from previous material before lifting off into its own territory. Listen first on DIY, below.
Speaking about the new album in a statement, Jesse Tabish says “we’re haphazardly trying to write classical music,” adding: “For the first times in our lives we were moving off on our own away from our families and kind of coming into our own. I wanted the songs to reflect that new spirit.”
Over 60 songs were penned for the record, with Tabish saying: “It was a long time spent searching for a new identity, still trying to retain the past of our musical palate but also really trying to stretch ourselves into a new type of music.”
Listen to Other Lives’ ‘Reconfiguration’ below.
