Our Girl rise and shine with ‘Sleeper’ single

Soph Nathan is a busy bee. Not content with being a quarter of one of the country’s best new bands in The Big Moon, she fills the blank space in her diary with Our Girl, a hazier outlet for her dreamy, shoegazey influences to take root. Their debut single ‘Sleeper’ - premiering below - proves this is no cobbled together pack of leftovers.

It’s a side to Soph’s coin that recalls the glory days of midwestern emo in its warm glow. Gloomy and foreboding, there’s a shadowy aspect to ‘Sleeper’ that builds as it approaches its thick crescendo. Twinkling out with a reverb-heavy shimmer, it’s a smoky first taster of a band that’s a thousand times bigger than the sum of its parts, and its earworm nature demands repeat plays.

Our Girl are set to play a one-off, special London headliner on 8th December at Birthdays in Dalston. The first spin of ‘Sleeper’ can be had below - it’s out December 18th via Cannibal Hymns.
