Pale Honey switch it up on ‘Why Do I Always Feel This Way?’
They’ve swapped ferocious guitars for contemplative synths on their new single.
Gothenburg duo Pale Honey are gearing up to release the follow-up to their self-titled debut album sometime this year, and after sharing the explosive single ‘Real Thing’ last year, they’re switching it up on their latest track.
‘Why Do I Always Feel This Way?’ swaps feral guitar riffs and drum clashes for stabs of bass-laden synths to accompany singer Tuva Lodmark’s lyrics about love, jealousy and denial. Sprawling across six minutes, the track gradually ramps up the tension, climaxing in layers of melodic electronic bursts. It just makes you think that Pale Honey could easily transform themselves a synthpop band if they really wanted to.
