Parquet Courts’ Andrew Savage announces first solo art exhibition
The frontman - who designs all of the band’s album sleeves - is putting on ‘Color Studies’ in Brooklyn.
Parquet Courts frontman Andrew Savage is putting on his first solo art exhibition, ‘Color Studies’. The singer designs all of the band’s album sleeves and flyers, and he also studied painting at University Of North Texas before joining the band. His show will run 10th July - 1st September at The Shop - 181 Howard Avenue, New York.
“I called the show Color Studies because I wanted to focus on colors that don’t appear in my palette often; you’ll find a lot of salmon pink and pastel colors — basically stuff I’ve been afraid to use because I wasn’t quite sure how,” Savage says of the show. “I like images that are familiar and ordinary, but hinged on an unsettling emotion.”
