Parquet Courts announce new ‘Human Performance’ album, share ‘Dust’ video

The barbed New Yorkers are back - LP5 is out April 8th.

Parquet Courts have announced a new LP, Human Performance’, and shared its lead track. ‘Dust’, the first track to be taken from the New Yorkers’ fifth full-length album, is as barbed as you’d expect, feeding Parquet Courts; knife-edge tension through an almost Americana-indebted warmth. Watch the washed-out video for the track below, in which an office-bound bloke seems to lose his sanity in line with the song’s ever more collapsing sense of melody. ‘Human Performance’ is set for release on April 8th via Rough Trade Records. It’s centred around “the unavoidable noise of NYC that can be maddening, the kind of the impossible struggle against clutter, whether it’s physical or mental or social,” according to Parquet Courts singer/guitarist and the record’s producer/mixer Austin Brown. The tracklisting for that is as follows: 1. Dust 2. Human Performance 3. Outside 4. I Was Just Here 5. Paraphrased 6. Captive Of The Sun 7. Steady On My Mind 8. On Man, No City 9. Berlin Got Blurry 10. Keep It Even 11. Two Dead Cops 12. Pathos Prairie 13. It’s Gonna Happen To celebrate its release, the band will embark on a little lap of honour of the UK - full dates are below. JUNE 12 London, Field Day festival 14 Bristol, Trinity 15 Liverpool, New Kazimier 16 Edinburgh, La Belle Angele 17 Leeds, Irish Centre 18 Manchester, Gorilla
