Parquet Courts plot collaboration with Bun B

New York post punks Parquet Courts previously linked up with rapper Bun B for a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert back in July, and now the band’s Austin Brown has revealed that they’re plotting a collaboration.

Speaking to Matt Wilkinson on Beats 1, Brown said that they recorded a song together, which they plan to release as a white label 7” in February. The b-side will feature a chopped and screwed reworking by Houston production whizzes DJ Candlestick and OG Ron.

The collaboration, Brown revealed, came about following a series of coincidences; Parquet Courts were first introduced to Bun B after Nardwuar chatted to him about the band at a DJ Khaled show.

Listen to Austin Brown’s entire Beats 1 interview here - the chat starts up around the 32:00 mark. Watch Parquet Courts perform with Bun B on Colbert below.
