Parquet Courts unveil new track, ‘This Is Happening Now’

Off-the-cuff Brooklyn punks Parquet Courts are releasing a new 7” single via the Famous Class LAMC series.

As part of a new release, they’re providing the A-side, while choosing who plays on the B-side.

This time round, the band have shared a previously unveiled song (‘This Is Happening Now’), handing the B-side baton to fellow Brooklynites Future Punx.

Parquet Courts’ entry is initially playful and deadeningly rhythmic, but the “ceaseless movement” eventually gets turned up several notches on one fell swoop. It’s a relentless pace - probably the fastest these guys have ever played.

The 7” single is out 16th September. Check out both sides below. Proceeds from the release go towards the Ariel Panero Memorial Fund at VH1 Save the Music.

This autumn sees Parquet Courts (or “Parkay Quarts”) touring the States and Europe under a new name, and alongside PC Worship for new band PCPC.
