Parquet Courts wake Glastonbury up after storms halt play

The Park Stage gets a much-needed jolt of energy after the break.

Walking on stage with his BBC visitor’s pass attached to his baseball cap, Parquet Courts’ Andrew Savage looks every bit the awkward frontman he’s supposed to. And it’s quite possible his band were the best possible bet to wake the Park Stage up after that enforced break.

“Thanks for allowing us back in your country”, he adds, as the band blast through opener ‘Duckin’ and Dodgin”, ‘Master of my Craft’ and the slightly more laid-back ‘Dear Ramona’, before guitarist/vocalist Austin Brown quips “it’s good to be headlining too.” Between the world’s tiniest banner reading “This is ace!” and the New Yorkers’ brilliantly channelled fury, there’s even attempts at a mosh pit from the rain-sodden crowd.

Parquet Courts played:

Ducking & Dodging
Bodies
Black and White
Vienna II
Always Back in Town
Dear Ramona
Master of My Craft
Borrowed Time
What Color Is Blood
Up All Night
Instant Disassembly
Raw Milk
Into The Garden
Light Up Gold II
Sunbathing Animal
