Patti Smith is working on bloody loads of books, as it happens

Patti Smith is writing books like there’s no tomorrow. She’s currently on a tour for her second memoir, ‘M Train’, and while at New Yorker festival she revealed the various other projects she’s working towards.

Alongside ‘M Train’, Smith is already working on a third memoir, as reports Dazed. She’s also planning on putting out a detective novel, a book for young adults and a collection of poetry.

Smith’s first memoir, ‘Just Kids’, was a widely celebrated work that explored her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe and her first experiences in New York. “I’m always just working. I have tons and tons and tons of unpublished material,” she said at the festival. “I’m gonna be like Dorothy Parker when I die, people are going to go, ‘Holy shit, it’s totally indecipherable.”
