Patti Smith, The Edge, Flea and more play sessions on chef Mario Batali’s new web series
In his new web series, American chef Mario invites musicians into his kitchen to cook up musical sessions, and he comes up with a plate of food to match.
Cooking and music go together - just ask Mac De Marco’s ‘Salad Days’ or Le Cordon Bleu approved saucier Kelis. In this spirit, American chef Mario Batali has started up a new web series, ‘Feedback Kitchen’, which combines the two. He invites seasoned artists into his kitchen to cook up some sessions, along with an interview and a new dish to match their music. The web series explores “the overlapping creative processes and influences of chefs and musicians.”
All five episodes premiered today on DailyMotion. Patti Smith, Flea, and The Edge enter the kitchen, along with Josh Groban and Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell. Highlights include Patti Smith shouting “oh my gosh, don’t do that, that’s against the law!” as Mario hurls spices wildly around in the air, and The Edge looking like an awkward guest on ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’.
