Patti Smith To Guest on Flea’s Solo EP
New York heroine to appear on charity release from Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist.
New York music scene staple Patti Smith is set to appear on the forthcoming solo EP from Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea.
The bassist has divulged further details of the release, via Twitter, saying that ‘it will be available for download at any price you want to pay, it will be a donation to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music’, Silverlake being the music school which he set up in 2001. An autographed physical version is also available, coming complete with a piece of bass string and priced at $75.
Those expecting an RHCP rehash may want to look elsewhere, however, with Flea describing the record as ‘obscure arty mostly instrumental music, except when Patti Smith sings’.
Full details of the release are expected later this week.
