Patti Smith Turns Friendship Memoirs Into A Film
The book won the 2010 National Book Award for Non-Fiction

Patti Smith’s memoirs of her friendship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, Just Kids, is to be made into a film.
The book won the 2010 National Book Award for Non-Fiction and now Patti Smith is working alongside screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, Rango, Any Given Sunday) to turn it into a film.
The film will chart the relationship between Smith & Mapplethorpe through the 60’s and 70’s in New York City.
The screenplay is not currently attached to any production companies, with the two merely working on a spec basis.
