The teaches of Peaches:
Peaches announces new Kim Gordon and Feist featuring album, shares ‘Light In Places’
‘Rub’ will be the Canadian electronic musician and performance artist’s first album in five years.
For anyone wondering what was next in the teaches of Peaches, the wait is over. The Canadian electronic musician and performance artist has announced her first studio album for five years, ‘Rub’. It’s due to come out on September 25th, on I U She Music via INgrooves. Peaches has also shared the first preview of what to expect, in the shape of ‘Light In Places’.
Peaches recorded ‘Rub’ last year in LA with frequent collaborator Vice Cooler, and another familiar face is set to pop up on the LP - Feist sings on ‘I Mean Something’. Kim Gordon also features on a different track, ‘Close Up’.
Ahead of the record, Peaches will release a photobook ‘What Else Is In The Teaches Of Peaches,’ which documents everything she’s been up to for the last decade. Created with Holger Talinski, the book will detail her collaborations with Yoko Ono, Le Tigre, and R.E.M, as well as her work in theatre. The book is out in June via Akashic Books.
The tracklisting for ‘Rub’ is as follows:
01 Close Up
02 Rub
03 Dick in the Air
04 Pickles
05 Sick in the Head
06 Free Drink Ticket
07 How You Like My Cut
08 Vaginoplasty
09 Light in Places
10 Dumb Fuck
11 I Mean Something
Peaches has also shared the first preview of ‘Rub’ - ‘Light In Places’. Crunching and strobey, its got Peaches’ hallmarks written all over lyrics like “my stargasm makes the blast” and “so much beauty coming outta my ass.” Scroll down to view Peaches’ newly announced North American tour dates, below the new video for ‘Light In Places’. It features Empress Stah and something called a “laser butt plug” show, so heads up, it’s NSFW.
