Perfect Pussy’s Meredith Graves to write a solo record

She’s also working on a split with Kevin Devine, she tells DIY.

It’s been a relentless year for Syracuse noise punk band, Perfect Pussy, who are planning on taking some time away from the band in 2015 to pursue other projects. Never one to stand still, Meredith Graves has told DIY that she will be “writing a solo record” alongside setting up her own record label and publisher, with the “first two releases happening this spring.”

Preceding the solo record, Meredith will be releasing a couple of split 7”s, she’s added.

One remains a mystery, but the other split is with Kevin Devine, who Graves described as “incredible”, saying: “Each of us went through a motherfucker of a personal loss this year, and we just realized that without discussing it first, we’re both writing songs about our situations. He’s a new friend and I feel like I’ve known him forever.”

Listen back to Meredith Graves discussing starting up her own record label on Damian from Fucked Up’s latest podcast.

Perfect Pussy’s ‘Say Yes To Love’ is out now on Captured Tracks.
