Perfume Genius airs new video for ‘Fool’
Featuring people dressed as birds, religious ceremonies for birds - lots of birds, basically.
Mike Hadreas has unveiled his new Perfume Genius video for ‘Fool’, with the track being taken from 2014 LP ‘Too Bright’.
Like the daring visual concepts that defined previous singles ‘Queen’ and ‘Grid’ (both capturing the feverish charm of the new album), ‘Fool’ takes Hadreas’ surreal turns to another level. Beginning with a white leather jacket and a roller-skate round a local supermarket, the video soon descends into full-blown bird mode.
A religious ceremony begins, which turns out to be devoted to a fluffy bird creature, attended by tall guys dressed as birds. Feathers fly, wings flutter - it all makes for a bird-centric visual frenzy.
The video was shot in London with the help of Urban Outfitters.

In addition to the new video, Perfume Genius has announced his biggest UK show to date. He’ll play London’s Royal Festival Hall on 10th June.
