piri & Tommy Villiers unveil latest track ‘lovergirl’

They’re also playing a surprise show in London this weekend.

Dance duo piri & Tommy Villiers have today dropped a new single, ‘lovergirl’, accompanied by a Mario Kart-inspired video featuring avatars of the pair driving round a race course. ‘lovergirl’ is another bouncy garage track showcasing their signature sense of fun, and acts as a follow up to this year’s previous singles ‘nice 2 me’ and ‘updown’.

Talking about the inspirations for ‘lovergirl’, piri says: “Lyrically, it was written from the perspective of me singing to myself, writing this song felt so personal and uplifting. It’s about that feeling after a relationship where you reflect on how much energy and time you put into another person, it’s easy to get angry at yourself and see it as a waste of effort, but in this track I’m saying ‘no, you should be proud to be a lovergirl!!’”

As well as continuing to collaborate, piri & Tommy Villiers are both working on solo projects too. The pair will also play a secret pop-up show in London this weekend in collaboration with promotor and activist group Save Our Scene - for more details, check out their social media.
