PJ Harvey debuts new material at ‘The Hollow of the Hand’ show
Multi-media performance took place at London’s Royal Festival Hall last week.
On Friday night (9th October), PJ Harvey debuted ten new songs during her ‘The Hollow of the Hand’ show at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
The show brought together music, short films and poetry, in a performance based around Seamus Murphy’s new project (including a book of poetry with Harvey).
During the show, PJ Harvey played songs including ‘Dollar Dollar’, ‘The Ministry of Social Affairs’, ‘The Wheel’, ‘Homo Sappy Blues’ and ‘Chain of Keys’. Many of these were put together in January writing sessions that took place at London’s Somerset House, in front of the public. Visitors were given an insight into the early stages of Harvey’s follow-up to ‘Let England Shake’ through one-way glass.
