PJ Harvey Favourite To Win The Mercury Prize 2011
Adele has dropped in the odds, and is now level with Anna Calvi.

This won’t be surprising to anyone who’s been keeping an eye on all the recent Mercury speculation, but PJ Harvey is currently the favourite to win.
This follows a small shift in betting over the past day, with yesterday’s odds putting Adele and PJ Harvey neck and neck.
‘We originally offered 4/1 for PJ Harvey but that price barely lasted 2 hours as we were knocked over by an early rush of money for her to win,’ said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. ‘She has form in this competition and it appears we slightly underestimated how popular this album has been.’
Here are the current odds; they’re a bit more spaced out than yesterday.
2/1 PJ Harvey;
6/1 Adele;
6/1 Anna Calvi;
13/2 James Blake;
7/1 Metronomy;
10/1 Ghostpoet;
14/1 Everything Everything;
14/1 Katy B;
16/1 Tinie Tempah;
16/1 King Creosote & Jon Hopkins;
20/1 Elbow;
25/1 Gwilym Simcock
The overall winner of the 2011 Prize will be decided and announced at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show, which will be broadcast live on BBC Two on 6th September.
