PJ Harvey to record new cover of Nick Cave for BBC drama

PJ Harvey is set to cover Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ ‘Red Right Hand’ for a new series on the BBC called ‘Peaky Blinders’, according to NME.

Legendary producer Flood is responsible for the soundtrack, and he asked for Harvey to contribute a track. ““We’re trying to make it feel much more European and British and PJ fits that bill perfectly,” he explained. ““I phoned Polly up and she was very interested. We’re trying to deconstruct all of Polly’s material and then weave it through, it’s very cutting-edge and modern.”

This’ll be the first new material from PJ Harvey since the release of 2011 album ‘Let England Shake’, which won the Mercury Prize. In August 2013 she shared ‘Shaker Aamer’, a protest single devoted to a British national who’d been improvised in Guantanamo Bay under US law.
