Premiere: Dios Mio Stream New Single ‘Stories’

London quartet Dios Mio have only been playing together as a band since last summer, but their grunge-laden dream-pop elicits the sort of finesse that reaches way beyond those short 8 months.

Having released only a handful of Soundcloud tracks to date, the band spent the first half of 2014 holed up in a sweaty Soho basement perfecting their live show and recording latest single ‘Stories’; a spine tingling 4 minutes of gushing guitars and enchanting female vocals.

Recorded over 3 days in February, ‘Stories’ goes from height to height. The glistening guitar melody swells with repetitive, rippling chords until Helena Coan’s vocal seeps in. It’s a voice which fronts such stone cold focus but simultaneously manages to harness warmth and emotional depth.

The whole track is a perfect balance of contrasts. Evidently their most accomplished sound yet, ‘Stories’ is set to be officially released on June 30th , ahead of which they play Underbelly, London - Friday 16th May.
