Premiere: Listen: Khushi Streams New ‘Magpie’ Single

Over the course of the past few months, London songwriter Khushi (K H U S H I, if we’re honouring space) has stood out alongside the likes of Sivu, Fun Adults and co in giving clever, gently applied stylings a grand, collective spin.

His debut single ‘Magpie’, however, is a brooding affair, affected and emotionally torn to shreds.

Bringing in The National comparisons from the off, grand horn sections compete for space with forelorn, repeated phrases like ‘I want you not somebody’, until it all reaches a crippling crescendo.

It’s a vivid vision of just how big Khushi could go, both in scale and with any inevitable chart-bothering.
