Premiere: Listen: Sleep Party People Shares ‘Floating Blood Of Mine’
We’ve got the first play of Brian Batz’s new song, taken from the ‘Floating’ album.

The imagery for Brian Batz aka Sleep Party People’s ‘Floating’ album borders on disturbing - for the LP art, a motionless, cartoon rabbit looks up to the skies for mercy. And when the Danish musician is spilling out titles like ‘Floating Blood of Mine’, there’s every reason to believe Batz is staring into the abyss.
This is a song that offers out hope, though. Even though it’s primarily concerned with Brian’s difficulties in adapting to a new community, the breathless guitar interchange and sweeping atmospherics suggests he’s headed somewhere more comforting.
‘While I was spending a month in San Francisco recording the album I often wondered how I was as a person when I was among people I didn’t really know that well,’ explains Batz.
‘Was I socially handicapped, too shy, too quiet, weird or just pretty normal? I unfortunately think people see me as a person who’s socially off when I’m in new environments although I’m trying not to be or think too much about it. I’m a quiet person and a person who loves to observe. That’s what this song is about. I think it’s in my genes to be like this. Like most of my family.’
As it happens, introverts make great music, as proven in this new track which we’re delighted to be premiering on DIY.
‘Floating’ is released on 2nd June via Blood & Biscuits.
