Premiere: Listen: Trust Fund Streams ‘No Surprise’ Track
Ellis Jones spills out truths to his nearly-best friend on a new Trust Fund track. We’ve got the first play.

Ellis Jones aka Trust Fund isn’t ever lacking in something to get off his chest. Honesty and brutal directness are part and parcel of his songwriting. On ‘No Surprise’, a song that begins simply enough before morphing into a monstrous beast of a racket, he trades harsh blows, but it’s all done with affection.
‘No Surprise’ is a song devoted to a good friend of Ellis’. Not his best friend, though. ‘Maybe, you’re right I guess, when she’s around I won’t reply to texts,’ he admits. ‘You and me will be hanging out much less.’ And there’s the knockout punch. After that, everything goes wild. Objects are thrown around the room. It’s a musical tantrum where the instruments career and take over Ellis’ actions.
The track appears on ‘Sick of Hits Vol. 2”, a new Reeks of Effort compilation also featuring Lone Omi and Something. It’s out 28th April.
Reeks of Effort are also hosting a prom this Saturday (15th March) featuring Joanna Gruesome, Sauna Youth, Playlounge and - you guessed it - Trust Fund.
