Prima Queen share new single ‘Crow’

The duo’s debut EP ‘Not The Baby’ is out in May.

Prima Queen have dropped their new single, ‘Crow’. The song is the second single to be taken from the indie duo’s upcoming EP ‘Not The Baby’, which is set to arrive on 3rd May. It follows on from last month’s track ‘Back Row’. ‘Crow’ references the romantic relationship between Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes, but its inspiration is more personal. “Crow was written just after lockdown and it’s about living in a big house with 6 of my best friends during Covid. It was inspired by a night where we tried (and failed) to rescue a crow with a broken wing,” said the band, per a press release. “Everyone in the house was having a hard time in different ways and the song’s about the pain of watching people you love struggle and not being able to fix it.” On the EP itself, they added: “We’ve both experienced a lot of change in the past few years and since we write all our songs together we’re usually drawn to write about our parallel experiences. “In this EP we explore different types of change - birth & death, leaving & returning - and how it can affect our relationships. It’s a reflection not only on our own feelings but also the feelings of our family, friends and lovers. “We’re really excited to finally release a complete body of work, rather than stand alone singles. These songs are meant to be listened to together and we want people to experience the emotional journey that they create.” Prima Queen will also be touring in support of the EP next month, playing the following dates: MAY 18 Guildford, Boileroom 19 Nottingham, Bodega 20 Sheffield, Get Together Festival 22 Brighton, Green Door Store 23 London, Lafayette 24 Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach 26 Bedford, Esquires 27 Leeds, Live At Leeds Festival 28 Bristol, Strange Brew Listen to ‘Crow’ below.
