Princess Diana masks, Boris bikes - it’s the new Peace video!
‘World Pleasure’ makes absolutely no sense to anyone, not least the band.
The narrative in Peace’s new ‘World Pleasure’ video is more obtuse than the average David Lynch daydream. What in christ’s name is going on? Why are the band wearing Princess Diana masks? How come they occasionally turn into girls? Why is Doug tied up? You won’t find any answers here.
As the video progresses from rehearsal footage, it soon descends into utter madness. First of all, someone decides to don a Princess Diana mask and pour milk all over their face. After that, Dom starts riding a Boris bike around the room, dresses as the mayor himself. Doug’s guitar is decorated in Love Actually stickers, too. Is this some kind of secret national tribute, a sense of British pride swelling up in the band? Or is it just a load of brilliant nonsense?
The video’s streaming below. ‘World Pleasure’ is taken from Peace’s second album ‘Happy People’, due out 9th February.
