Public Access TV lived in the building that caught fire yesterday in New York’s East Village

Yesterday, two buildings in New York’s East Village collapsed after an explosion, leaving at least nineteen people injured and one person reported missing, as The New York Times reports.

Turns out Manhattan group Public Access TV had an apartment in that building - the group were out on tour, but they took to Facebook to confirm that they were safe.

Frontman John Eatherly posted the following message, as Stereogum reports:

“We’ve got a lot of messages about our apartment burning down in New York today. We are all safe. Very very lucky. Thoughts go out to everyone else affected by it and the firefighters.”

PATV are rounding off a US tour with Gang of Four tonight, at Pioneertown, CA.
