Rat Boy delivers spaced out Swim Deep remix for ‘One Great Song And I Could Change the World’
Essex kid brings dub vibes to the Birmingham band’s far-out original.
Swim Deep don’t need any hand in pushing boundaries or trying out new ideas that most bands wouldn’t dare attempt, but they’ve been given an extra boost by Essex newcomer Rat Boy.
The ‘Sign On’ kid has been making his name on stage invasions and berserk early recordings, but it turns out he’s a dab hand at the remix game too. He’s delivered a new take on Swim Deep’s ‘One Great Song And I Could Change the World’, bringing elements of dub and trip-hop into the fray. Austin Williams’ already far-out vocals enter another dimension, sitting somewhere between Bez’s maraca solos and the next NASA space mission.
We’ve got the first play of Rat Boy’s Swim Deep remix, below.
Swim Deep’s second album, ‘Mothers’, is due out 18th September via Chess Club / RCA.
