Raury performs ‘Devil’s Whisper’ on Colbert
He wore a t-shirt directed at fellow show guest Donald Trump.
Raury stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform ‘Devils Whisper’. The epic mirror-image to his mixtape stand-out ‘God’s Whisper,’ the track’s taken from his forthcoming debut album ‘All We Need’. It’s out on October 16th via Columbia.
Backed by singers repeating the sinister refrain, with an unhinged interlude of pounding drums, Raury performed wearing a Mexico football shirt, with the name ‘Trump’ crossed out. It’s a clear dig at the Republican leadership candidate’s controversial vow to build a “‘great, great wall” to prevent immigrants entering the U.S across the Mexican border.
As fate would have it, Republican leadership candidate Donald Trump was another guest on Colbert the same night. Who knows if he realised the message of ‘Devil’s Whisper’ was pointed squarely in his direction?
