Reading 2011: Frankie & The Heartstrings Guitarist Snares Kylie

Following their set at Reading Festival yesterday (Friday 26th August), DIY had a sit down with Frankie and one of his Heartstrings, guitarist Michael.

It wasn’t only music up for discussion, however, with Michael regaling us with the story of the time he met Kylie Minogue on the set of Doctor Who…

Michael: I met Kylie once. And because she’s only little, she got caught in the toggle of my jacket. I swung round and I didn’t realise that Kylie had been caught in my toggle. I thought it was the coffee machine. This girl was like, ‘Oi, streuth!’ Because she’s Australian, right. And I looked round and our manager was like, ‘Oi! You’ve got Kylie in your toggle!’ I had to undo her and shoo her off. It was on Doctor Who. I was an extra on Doctor Who. I’m an actor on the side.
Frankie: That’s his story. He just comes out with it everywhere we go.
Michael: That actually happened.
