Back in business
Frankie & The Heartstrings’ Pop Recs Ltd. shop to reopen this month
Frank Turner is playing an intimate show to celebrate, on 14th November.
Frankie & The Heartstrings’ Sunderland record shop, Pop Recs Ltd., is set to return in a new location.
After its original Fawcett Street space was sold off to developers, it’s found a new home on Stockton Road. To celebrate the reopening, Frank Turner will be playing an intimate set on 14th November.
Speaking to Sunderland Echo about the shop, Turner says: “They’re a great example of everything a local independent record shop should be, bringing together music and local community.”
Shop founder and F&TH member Dave Harper added: “[Frank’s] the perfect fit for us, the voice of a generation. He bangs the drum for projects like Pop Recs. He’s one of those rare people who, if he can do something to help, will do something.”
Tickets for the Frank Turner show will be available from 6-8pm on Friday 13th November, via Pop Recs’ new home.
Pop Recs Ltd. is set to remain a hub for in-stores, and it’ll be stocking copies of DIY’s November issue.
