Reading 2011: Sharks To Record Debut Album In Baltimore

Leamington Spa’s Sharks have revealed they’re about to start recording their debut album.

Leamington Spa’s Sharks have revealed they’re about to start recording their debut album.

Speaking to DIY at Reading Festival yesterday (Saturday 27th August), the band said: ‘We’re going to Baltimore for five weeks and we’re going to record it [the album] with a guy called Bryan McTurner, who’s done some of the Hot Water Music stuff and loads of really cool stuff. Then we’re going straight on the AP tour.

‘We’re pretty stoked because we’ve never been in the studio for more than five days before. We’ve got all the songs kind of ready so we’re probably going to finish it in two weeks and get stoned for the other three.’

Telling us a bit more about the aforementioned ‘kind of ready’ songs, they revealed: ‘They’re quite loosely written at the moment. We’ve got loads of ideas but we’re waiting to get in there to do pre-production and stuff. There’s going to be loads of time to think about what you really want to record so it’s going to be good and creative.’

Sharks also played Leeds Festival today (Sunday 28th August) on the Lock Up Stage. Check back for the full interview later in the week.
