Refused announce more festival appearances for 2015 reunion
Alongside Reading and Leeds, Post-Hardcore legends add dates in Canada and Belgium.
Last month it was presumed that the Refused reunion, which started at Coachella in 2012, had ended with a homecoming show in Umea, Sweden the same year. But, following on from the silence-breaking news that guitarist Jon Brännström has been fired from the band, and a single post on Facebook, ‘Old Friends/ New War’ Refused have announced four festival appearances for next summer.
The announced dates are scattered around the world and the calendar, hinting that there might be more to come.
They play the following shows:
MAY
01-02 Belgium, Groezrock
JUNE
20 Quebec, Amnesia Rockfest
AUGUST
28-30 Reading & Leeds
Refused broke up in 1998, leaving behind a recorded legacy of five EPs and three albums. The band reunited in 2012 and undertook an intensive, eleven month touring schedule, playing 74 shows across the globe before going on hiatus. There’s no official word if Refused are currently working on new material, but the wording from both Jon Brännström and the rest of Refused imply that they’re working on something.
Refused will be performing at The Reading and Leeds Festivals alongside Metallica, Manchester Orchestra, Jamie T, Pierce The Veil, Run The Jewels and Wilkinson.
