Reading & Leeds 2015: Metallica, Refused & Run The Jewels to play Reading & Leeds 2015
The first six acts have been confirmed to appear at next August’s weekender.
Metallica are one of the first acts announced to appear at next year’s Reading and Leeds.
Fresh from a week-long residency on US late night television, the mighty metallers are leading the charge in the first round of acts confirmed to appear at the festival next year. They’ll be be headlining for a staggering fourth time, after first closing proceedings at the festival eighteen years ago.
Speaking of their invitation to play, the band’s drummer Lars Ulrich has said: “We are obviously beyond thrilled to be returning to headline the magnificent and mighty double shot at Reading & Leeds for the fourth time. We are practically the house band. Bring it!”

Taking place across the August Bank Holiday Weekend in 2015, other artists to be confirmed in the first wave of additions include Swedish post-hardcore heroes Refused - who are currently rumoured to be gearing up for a brand new album - and hip hop masters Run The Jewels, who will making their debut at the festival.
Also included in the first handful of acts set to appear at next year's event are Jamie T, Pierce The Veil, Wilkinson and Manchester Orchestra, with many more bands to be announced soon.
Next year's Reading and Leeds festivals take place from 28th to 30th August 2015, and tickets are on sale now.
