Rex Orange County announces debut headline tour

Alex O’Connor will play UK and Irish shows in February 2018.

Fresh from releasing his debut album ‘Apricot Princess’ and, you know, playing at the Mercurys with Skepta and becoming part of Frank Ocean’s live band, Rex Orange County has announced details of his first headline tour.

The singer will play UK and Irish shows in February of next year, beginning in Dublin on the 17th and featuring a frankly massive London show at KOKO three days later.

We caught up with O’Connor earlier this year for a Neu feature, tracking his development and emergence from the shadows.

“In my nature I’ll just say things exactly how they are,” he told us. “I’m not so great with metaphors, I just say it how it is.”

“With the first mini-album, mixtape thing, it was just some really negative stuff about how I felt about a girl basically. Now this is about other shit,” he says. This time round, he’s continuing to be “honest about the sad things, but it’s on a more generally positive note”.

View the tour dates and watch his video for ‘Untitled’ below.

FEBRUARY
