Ricky Eat Acid remixes Yumi Zouma’s new ‘Alena’ single

Next week, New Zealand via New York via Paris (try handling their collective calendar) project Yumi Zouma arrive in the UK for a one-off show at London Birthdays, 10th November.

The show lands alongside ‘Alena’, a new single released this week on Cascine. Its original version comes off like a warm, all-enveloping burst of emotional pop. On a new remix, producer Ricky Eat Acid’s sent ‘Alena’ into another dimension altogether. A rush of twinkling synths, inverted vocals and percussive parts that threaten to burst at the seams, it’s giddy energy in its purest form, captured without a moment to spare.
