Rough Trade announce new ‘Best Of…’ compilation
A bumper collection of tracks will be spread across three formats, featuring Warpaint and The Strokes.
Rough Trade Records have announced the release of a forthcoming compilation titled ‘Recorded At The Automat: The Best of Rough Trade Records’. The album will be made available via Rough Trade Shops in March, with the release covering forty years of music released on the label.
The label started in 1978 as a side project of the shop which was owned and managed by Geoff Travis. The mammoth collection has been picked by Travis alongside representatives Jeannette Lee, Nigel House, Pete Donne, Sean Forbes and Simon Russell. It will be released on CD, vinyl and download, though there will be a triple CD and single CD release, with all formats varying in their track-lists. Artists featured across the release include The Libertines, The Smiths, The Fall, The Strokes as well as Cabaret Voltaire, The Raincoats and Stiff Little Fingers, who were amongst many of the first artists to release on the label.
