Hear Run The Jewels guest on Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me!
They joined the NPR comedy show to talk about their music, ‘Meow The Jewels’ and, er, rabbis?
Last night Run The Jewels were special guests on the NPR comedy show ‘Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me’ and, predictably, they were kinda hilarious.
The pair talked about just about everything you can think of in their 10 minutes on the show, including how Killer Mike got his killer name (a freestyle battle when he was in his teens), and how “you’d be amazed at how many ways to make a cat sound” there are (giving them a little squeeze helps apparently).
When asked why they’re not always at each other’s throats, El-P said: “Our idea is that every great act has, like, you know, three to four great records and then a horrible falling out. We’re sort of trying to plot that part now.” Whoa, hold up! We’d like to think they’d get a bit further than ‘RTJ4’…
There was even a bit of quizzing on, er, “who runs the Jews”. Cue a bit of awkward brow sweating from the pair (and the audience). They had to answer two out of three questions on rabbis correctly so that a Mr. David Reed of Montana could have Carl Kassell phone his voicemail (high stakes there!) How did they fare? We won’t spoil it for you…
