Ryan Adams dons dress and covers for Natalie Prass in her absence
Natalie sass – a new Adams/Prass hybrid – has been born.
After tour-buddy Natalie Prass’ flight to Copenhagen was cancelled, folk hero Ryan Adams donned a dress and covered for her in spectacular style.
Prass’ flight with Scandinavian airline SAS was cancelled at the last minute, meaning she missed the show at Falconerhalle Salen; but the show must go on etc. So, transforming into the rather brilliantly named ‘Natalie Sass’, Adams played a support set of Prass’ breezy pop songs while sporting a particularly eye-catching monochrome polka-dot dress.
“I am usually much more gorgeous”, he quipped, but unfortunately the “humidity fucks up my hair”. Although there were rather a lot of fiery tweets catapulted towards SAS’s Twitter feed, and the fans missed out on Natalie Prass, Natalie Sass went down like a Danish pastry - quite the treat. It can only be hoped that more mix-and-match eleventh-hour support acts will emerge.
Prass released her debut self-titled album – produced by Matthew E. White - on Spacebomb Records, earlier in February. Adams and Prass have two more shows coming up in Europe:
12 Bergan (NO), USF Verftet
13 Oslo (NO), Sentrum Scene
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
