Saint Pepsi unveils new single ‘Fiona Coyne’
Disco-spliced new single is the producer’s first on Carpark Records.
Saint Pepsi’s discovered his inner funk. Initially a more reclusive producer spilling out instrumental tracks by the bucketload, he’s since reigned things in slightly in terms of productivity - musically though, he’s just coming out of his shell, fronting new song ‘Fiona Coyne’ with the stance of someone overseeing a 48-hour disco that keeps on giving.
Ryan DeRobertis’ strutting new number follows on from the ‘Gin City’ EP, and it’s his first since signing a deal with Carpark Records. There’s a definite good times aesthetic to ‘Fiona Coyne’ that might be associated with label mate Toro Y Moi - this is from a different sphere, though. Blasts of trumpets and glitter-doused guitar lines make for one of the sunniest, groove-tastic tracks of the year so far.
‘Fiona Coyne’ is out 12th August on Carpark.
