Sam Fender unveils next ‘People Watching’ teaser ‘Arm’s Length’
The North Shields favourite has also just been nominated in two categories for the 2025 BRIT Awards.

Sam Fender is back with new single ‘Arm’s Length’ - another taste of what to expect from his anticipated third album ‘People Watching’ (due out on 21st February), following the release of its anthemic title track and follow-up ‘Wild Long Lie’.
This latest cut finds beauty in simplicity, building on a ’70s-tinged guitar motif and emotive harmonies to explore self-destructive patterns of behaviour (namely, not letting people in too much out of fear of getting hurt). “It’s about being avoidant and flighty,” Sam has shared, “but also, [it’s] just a simple pop song, which I love.”
Continuing, he has explained that ‘Arm’s Length’ “originally came from one of those magic moments where you’re just messing around, and a song literally falls out of the sky.” You can hear it for yourself via the player below.
What’s more, Sam will be bringing ‘People Watching’ to stages around Europe this Spring (accompanied by the ever-brilliant CMAT) before crossing the pond for a run of US shows, after which he’s due to tear up the stadium and festival circuit throughout the Summer.
£1 from every ticket sold for Sam’s stadium shows (in London and his native Newcastle) will be donated to organisations working to support the arts in the North East. Check out his full 2025 live schedule below.
