Sauna Youth debut ‘Transmitters’ video

Band throw shapes in statue-lined parks for their new clip.

Next week sees Sauna Youth releasing their second album, ‘Distractions’. Jagged, quick-witted and unrelenting, it’s a fast-paced race through the Brighton-formed group’s furtherest imaginations, and it’s a massive step up. DIY’s June issue gives the record four stars, calling the LP a “tense and utterly incensed album.”

One of the high points is ‘Transmitters’, an airwave-obsessed blitz of simple, in-your-face guitar patterns. For the new video, Sauna Youth decided to take over the ruins of Crystal Palace Terraces, throwing shapes and spinning in stop-motion circles. It’s directed by Gary Mcquiggin of Welewyn Garden City, and it’s inspired by James Broughton film ‘The Pleasure Garden’.

We’ve got the first play of Sauna Youth’s new video, below. Tonight the band launch their new album with a show at London’s The Old Baths. Pre-order ‘Distractions’ here.
