Savages and Mica Levi to create “living art projects” at London’s Barbican Centre

The two will collaborate with artists on a project titled ‘Station To Station,’ which will open this summer.

Savages and Mica Levi of Micachu & the Shapes are set to collaborate on a new “living art project” titled ‘Station To Station’. The installations will be on show at London’s Barbican Centre this summer, as part of a larger series running at the Barbican from 27th June to 26th July. The installation series took 18 months to plan, and it’s masterminded by artist Doug Aitken.

Savages have teamed up with Pop Noire label mates A Dead Forest Index, and the dancer and choreographer Fernanda Muñoz-Newsome for their contribution; an audiovisual performance showing on two nights, 24th and 25th July. Meanwhile Mica Levi is collaborating again with pianist Eliza McCarthy on an art gallery residency, set to take place on 17th and 18th July.

J Spaceman of Spiritualized and Suicide are also among the musicians getting involved, along with artist Yayoi Kusama. Head here to check out the full details of Station to Station. Watch Savages perform new song ‘Adore’ at New York’s Mercury Lounge below.

Savages will play Field Day (6th-7th June), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
