Seasick Steve Announces New Album, ‘Hubcap Music’

The singer-songwriter ropes in John Paul Jones, Jack White and Luther Dickinson to help.

Seasick Steve has announced he is to release a new album this spring.

Titled ‘Hubcap Music’, because, as the singer-songwriter says, ‘cus I play some songs on a guitar made out of 2 hubcaps and a garden hoe’, the record will be released via Fiction Records on 29th April.

In a hand-written press release of sorts, Steve reveals there are guest appearances on there from his ‘friends John Paul Jones and Jack White and Luther Dickinson’.

He also explains how - bar the production of the physical stock itself - no computers were used in the recording. ‘It was recorded on tape recorder on old fashion [sic] tape’ he says, ‘mixed on tape, the vinyl cut from tape, ain’t no computers on this record at all! Well I guess they use computers to make them CDs, wow it’s a modern world’.

A trailer for the album has also been made, viewable below.
