Premiere Shabazz Palaces share disquieting new ‘Since C.A.Y.A.’ video
The unsettling new visual features footage by Beyonce and Sampha collaborator Kahlil Joseph.
Shabazz Palaces are never ones to give themselves an easy life, are they? Setting the challenge of releasing two albums in one year - and delivering with ‘Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star’ and ‘Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines’ - they’ve been a busy pair, and with another tour kicking off on our shores next week, that’s not about to stop.
Ahead of that tour, the duo have shared a glitchy and disquieting new video for ‘Since C.A.Y.A.’. The Thundercat-featuring track gets a black and white visual to match; all crashing waves, pixellated distortion, foreboding tunnels, and writhing snakes. It’s directed by Stephan Gray, and features footage by Kahlil Joseph, who also collaborated on Beyonce’s album epic ‘Lemonade’ and Sampha’s experimental short film ‘Process’
Shabazz Palaces play the following UK dates:
NOV
06 Oval Space, London
07 Deaf Institute, Manchester
08 Art School, Glasgow
09 Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds
We’re premiering the new video for ‘Since C.A.Y.A.’ below. It’s nice and spooky, just in time for Halloween.
