Shiny Darkly unveil pulsating debut single ‘Soft Skin’
Copenhagen group bring a reverberated thrash to their first single, ahead of forthcoming UK dates.
Shiny Darkly aren’t fucking around. They’re locked tight to a sound that’s emerged somewhere between a grubby underground dungeon and the remains of a still reverberating punk scene that’s shot straight through Scandinavia.
The Copenhagen band have less in common with Iceage et al. than scene-depictors might wish - there’s a greater debt to the UK punk movement, with garage rock comparisons to early Horrors swimming around debut single ‘Soft Skin’. It’s here that the newly-fledged trio show their hand, with Kristoffer Bech’s vocals bellowing out with zero variation in decibel level or thrilling pace. It’s an onslaught, the kind you never see coming.
This October, Shiny Darkly arrive in the UK for their first dates. Check those out above DIY’s premiere for ‘Soft Skin’, streaming below.
